Gas vs Electric, Gas of Course at Fast Lap Indoor Kart Racing
With these electric tracks poping up all over the place we get a lot of questions about the difference. There is simply nothing better than the gas powered kart for the "Real Racing Experience" The sight, The Sound and the Feel of a kart manufactured for racing. The builder of our karts (Sodi-Kart) is a well known outdoor Championship Kart builder. They produce Shifter Karts, Rotax Karts and have been outdoor World Champions in all classes of racing.THE SAME TECHNOLOGY IS APPLED TO OUR RENTAL KARTS. The electric karts made by an Italian firm called OTL has never competed to my knowledge in any type of professional racing. One of the biggest problems they face is the battery's start to lose power after only 7 to 8 minutes depending on the age of the battery. At almost twice the weight of a gas powered kart you can only imagine how they handle. One of our local Irwindale Legend Car Champions describes it like driving a "Meat Truck". Check out our "The Difference" page on this website for a honest comparison. Don't get me wrong, any form of racing is killer to me, just that gas powered is more authentic with longer races, faster top speeds, wider tracks, best value and overall best racing. Check out our "The Difference" page on this website. Keep checking back as this is the first of a series of comparisons to come. If you want the "Real Racing Experience" then come to Fast Lap Indoor Kart Racing.
